Editor's note: in my opinion this is one of the best spoken word records I have posted on here. It's witty, sarcastic and well-acted. For some reason the actor portraying Rip Van W. reminds me of Johnny Depp and that's always a boon in the acting department. A+.
Editor's note: this is the next to last LP in the Euphonic Sound records that I have yet to post and I'm not sad about that. A little ragtime is too much ragtime for me despite how well this dude plays it.
Editor's note: these tunes are all right but nothing special despite being the A-Side being a top 10 hit. What really intrigues me though is the follow-up to this record which flopped like a flounder without fins called "The March of the White Corpuscles". I'll have to dig that one up from YouTube or something.
Editor's note: I'm not particularly down with most of the so-called Xian volk but I am certainly up with the guitar posing as a steeple on the high church of musicdom. As per usual, where the Christian sect doesn't necessarily break any new ground in a genre they win me over with cover art. I'm certain that the blurry guitar with the clearly seen steeple is code for: the music is secondary to the concept. You'll be the judge of that.
Editor's note: another filmstrip record minus the pictures but obviously with the cursed BEEPS. The only info about Publius & Assoc. that I could dig up was another film by them from 1969 about inflation. Not just another humdrum dissertation but one by G. Edward Griffin (google The Creature From Jekyll Island) which certainly is about the Federal Reserve and usury. Knowing Griffin's longstanding affiliation with the Birch Society makes me believe that it could actually be one of their many releases. Good anti-Commie stuff either way.
Editor's note: this is a pretty good album if you're into instructional and exercise music for kids. Personally, I'm into hookers and moonshine so even though this is good it didn't do much for me. You may be more inclined towards it.
The Original Munich Hofbrauhaus Orchestra conducted by Hubert Radl

Editor's note: now this is what I expected from an Oktoberfest record! Burly men singing stupid party songs which sound almost like patriotic staples which all idiots should know by heart. The band marches along tooting, drumming and trumpeting to ensure that each keg is drunk so that another drummer can be added to the procession or at least Brunhilde's homely mug can be covered up while Franz goes to town on her.
As always, separate your own songs ye mongrels! I see that some people complain about my posting whole record sides as opposed to individual songs and my response to this is: if you are a record buff and don't have track splitting software capabilities then you should go back to renting CDs from the library you crybabies! I prefer my method because it forces you to listen to the album instead of picking at it like fumbling fingers trying to undo a bra strap!
THIS HAS TO BE (Spass Muss Sein) 3:07 IN MUNICH STANDS A BREWERY (In Muenchen Stehdt Ein Hofbrauhaus) 3:11 SEA VOYAGE (Ein Seefahrt) 2:30 SUCH A DAY (So Ein Tap) 3:54 OLD COUNTRY 2:12 LICHTENSTEINER 2:54
Editor's note: my favorite of the several posted Oktoberfest albums mainly because it's a local sound to a worldwide event and actually sounds like entertainment as opposed to an event. Not only that but it sounds very polka and polka's where it's at or something like that.
Editor's note: boring as dry frog farts to me. I don't know, I guess I am against the ceremony and live feed from the festival aspect and would rather hear the songs recorded in a studio to take home with me and hide in a corner until I'm drunk enough to dress up like a penguin and sing like a fool.
YES SIR SHE'S MY BABY POLKA 2:11 WRITE ME A LETTER WALTZ 3:18 LIFE IS GOOD POLKA 3:36 BOYS LIKE BLONDES OBEREK 2:22 MUSICIAN POLKA 2:55 I MISS YOU WALTZ 3:17
Editor's note: yeah, I know, it's not an Oktoberfest record. Guess what? You're most likely not German. Hell, you're probably not even your father's child but we won't hold it against you. With a surname like Lush and when the main song on your album is called BEER BEER BEER you might as well be German and celebrate just the same.
Editor's note: much like its predecessor this is pretty much a straight up folksong record. Where this one steers a little off the road of folky goodness is in overproduction. While the first record was pretty much stripped down to guitar, piano and Bill's voice this one adds choruses and strings which makes it a bit too polished sounding in spots for my taste. Still a good record nonetheless.

Editor's note: for a person who occasionally writes a beer blog and loves records you'd think that Oktoberfest was a special occasion for me but outside of the beer it's pretty much a bore. Even the beer isn't that great. Especially the German beer seeing as they stick to 500 year old recipes based upon some king's decree so that market prices for grains would stay higher. What I'm getting at is that I like the concept of the festival but not the actual festival. Who am I kidding... I just like the beer.
Editor's note: just going through the motions with this one. Any week leading up to my weekend with my daughter I am just passing time and doubling up the record output for the days I won't be available to post. Which means I cheat on a few and don't really listen or record it while I'm in the shower. This was a zone out record for me so you decide yourself if you're still even listening to polka at this point you faithful few.

Editor's note: how many times and way can I say that I don't enjoy jazz piano? Well, this is a reclamation project obviously seeing as many of the pieces sound like they were recorded live and with the faulty equipment of the day. Either way this dude doesn't look very happy either so I'll leave my comments at that.
Editor's note: the theatre bores me to tears unless it's ancient drama based solely on violence or mythology and so I lost track of what was going on a few minutes in. I did chuckle a few times with the mention of the character named Fag though. Speaking of Fag, after hearing the name spoken several times I just assumed that this was modern comedy probably done by an avant garde troupe of neo-renaissance romantics or something idiotic of the sorts but no, it's a play written in the latter part of the 1700s. I never would have guessed as much.

Please don't pirate the artist's music. It's not in a high quality format plus it's downright rude to do anything but listen to these records for your own pleasure and amusement.

MOST WANTED
Gundella's "The Hour of the Witch" LP
The unspookiest witch of Detroit lore. This lady was a practicing witch, a schoolteacher, author and a lecturer during her lifetime. Hearing about this record is what caused me to bust out the old albums and start this blog up so actually hearing it would be an added bonus. If you'd like to contribute pictures and audio of this album or any others feel free to email me and I will post them.
***UPDATE***
thanks to Dustin over at FM Dust I have a copy of this record and will post it around Halloween. Thanks DUSTIN! In the meantime listen to it here.
Isabel Baker's "I Like God's Style"
I came across this record on a few blogs and managed to track down some audio from WFMU's site. I would love to hear more from this honky-tonkin' caterwaulin' queen. Listen to the tracks below and I think you will too!
